Which generals did Kaiser Wilhelm like the most?
In our most recent episode we cover the presidency. Trump and Obama have more in common than we think.
Generals Paul Von Hindenburg and Eric Ludendorff. They were virtually running the entire German war effort between them by 1918. For such a bellicose guy pre-war, the Kaiser rapidly lost enthusiasm for the great war he had so large a hand in starting. By 1918 he was isolated and had withdrawn from making grand strategic decisions, and abdicated in November of that year. I have not read his memoirs, if they exist, but I would love to read what his assessment of the Great War was in hindsight.
